BFTA Open Championships

 

For the first time ever, the BFTA Open Championships will be coming to the Isle of Wight this year, to be held by Carisbrooke Rifle and Pistol Club at our outdoor grounds at Borthwood Farm in Borthwood.

It will be shot over two days on Saturday 27th September and Sunday 28th September. Because it is the first time a national competition has been held on the island, we hope that we will see a good turn out. It will mean that the majority of shooters will need to stay over, and in fact we would encourage people to stay a few days with us and experience the atmosphere and attractions that the island offers.

 

In order to make the trip a little easier, we have negotiated with a number of accredited accommodation providers who have all agreed to provide anyone attending the BFTA Open some special offers and or rates specifically for this event.

There are a range of venues from a country house hotel, a large beachfront hotel, hotels and guest houses, a self catering apartment block and a camping and touring site. We can not recommend any of the individual providers, but they have all been selected because they wanted to be associated with the event, they have good reviews or reputations and offer good value for money. For anyone who enjoys a spot of wild camping, the farmer has agreed to allow camping on the farm although facilities will obviously be limited. Inquiries for this should be made through the club nearer the time.
